Despite the issues (whether objective or subjective), I'm very glad to see it here! Thanks Aspyr.

(Now if only CrystalD would finally give people who want them Rise and Shadow here. :P

Great to see it released, I hope they bring Rise and Shadow of the Tomb Raider along with the Isometric Lara Croft games here.

I don't see much point in buying these remasters. The price point is quite high and the originals play very well in the open-source engines that are available, which already give access to higher resolutions. Using 'modernized controls' for these games doesn't make sense, since it will fundamentally change the feel of the gameplay and it will give a very un-authentic experience.

In addition, the trigger message of 'offensive content' is very cringey and disrespectful to some of the most classic and influential games of all time.

Not everyone is aware of the open source engines or may not understand how to get them running properly. These remasters also include the expansions that have not been officially released until these remasters.

Then there is also convenience, some may just want to download and play rather than tinkering for some time to get settings just right or going through Internet forums trying to figure out why the game isn't working if they couldn't get the Open Source engine to run.

As for the "Trigger" message, that is more to protect themselves from said people that like getting triggered and if I had to choose between a "Trigger" message and them altering the game to fit someones interpretation of what a modern audience wants...... I'll take the message.

What a coincidence, DOSBox Staging just came out with a new release today that adds low level hardware Voodoo emulation. It works great with the original Tomb Raider, so I'll just play that, thank you very much.
Hope they aren't using the sales of this remaster to gauge the interest of future Tomb Raider games.

Well, I for one won't buy them for the current price.
I own the originals, after all.
And I have no problem, waiting for a decent discount.

This is funny, turns out the "Trigger Message" at the beginning of the game is just a set of lines in a common.txt file in the game folder and you can actually edit the text so the warning will say whatever you want it to say..... I can see people having fun with this.

*sigh* ANother game where GoG tries to force DRM on us for now.

Apparently they still snuck in a bit of censorship, with a naked pin-up lady missing from the back of Pierre DuPont's jacket?
Anybody can confirm?

I really hope they do XD I'll take the Message at the start than censorship so I don't care for the message, but will be fun to see what people do with that.

Thanks for the release GOG, CD and Aspyr!

What? Where? I cannot confirm this. Might it be an issue on your end?
