I just discovered this amazing new handheld console that I wanted to share with you folks!

http://pgslab.com/

I would absolutely love to see GOG.com get on board with an idea like this! Think about playing some of your favourite GOG.com games on this incredible handheld. This thing makes the 3DS look like a Fisher Price toy!

because gog off course has the capital to spend money willy nilly
do i really need to pull out the numbers for the witcher 3 compared to mgs 5 again ?
or how square face planted because they lost 90 million which is pretty much what the witcher 3 made cd projekt red ?
or that in the first quarter of 2014 gog mad cdpr 1240 dollars ?

but yeah they should get in to hardware
look at how well valve is doing ( not at all )

the hardware is cool..i guess but its been done before
the dingoo the open pandora etc
I wouldn't make any judgements until the thing actually comes out and we see what it's truly capable of. Until then, this is pure speculation.

I don't mean GOG should start building hardware, I'm saying GOG should try to make their games more compatible with third party handheld devices. It looks like Steam will be supported on this handheld.

I think they've got a long way to go before they look into that. They're not really very big yet at all.

I don't really know what would be required to make that happen, but it sure would be sweet.

eeeh
gog holds a fraction of the pc gaming market along with uplay origin and battle net
the rest of the market share is all steam
so off course this thing supports steam

i think gog should just concentrate on what they do well ( drm free games and old gmes) and grow naturally from that
steam didnt become a behemoth overnight

more support from developers
same day releases
price parity
japanese pc developers on board
more mainstream exposure ( gaming media and advertising)
bigger market share

none of that is really happening right now really
gog mostly;y loses cdpr money and its the witcher ip that keeps them afloat

Finally I can play all my favourite PC games on a handheld that doesn't even have enough buttons to play games actually designed for gamepads. Awesome!

Edit: Took a look at their . Almost every post just highlights how clueless they are concerning problems with the input methods. They also submitted a patent for exchangeable elements, too bad that this was [url=http://wiiudaily.com/2014/05/nintendo-patent-shows-device-with-interchangeable-controls/]already patented by Nintendo a while ago.

And correction, it apparently is supposed to have enough buttons for XInput games, just positioned in a highly awkward manner without room for actual triggers.

Wow, that's such a rip off of the DS / 3DS...

And it looks like its called the PG Slab from their url...

It's basically just a console that plays PC games, it might be quite good and fun, or it might be a huge disastrous flop.
Personally, I think this device is a long time coming. A sleek-looking handheld device that will play most PC and Console games [via emulator] is something that should have happened a long time ago.

Do I think the PGS is a 3DS rip off? Kind of. Does it really matter? Not really.

If this company actually releases a device that lives up to the hype, I will be one happy gamer!

And that's a pretty heavy "if".

this brings nothing new to the table other then ripping off the vita and 3DS

I don't see why you couldn't even without GOG supporting it... looks to be running Windows 10, so you should just be able to download Galaxy, etc and use it (though you would probably need to hook up and mouse and keyboard which is supported by the looks of it).

This is like some trend. Like how everyone was trying to make MMOs and later MOBAs after a few of them got successful.

IMO, the current market makes these fail. For power, PC is second to none. No portable gaming device is better than the 3DS, and even then there are the casuls on mobile. And there already many many TV boxes with a wider selection of games. So where can anything new fit in?

Actually the Steam controller and the Steam Link has been a pretty good success for Valve. If I was them I would double down on that and drop Steam OS/ Steam Machines. I could totally see GOG coming out with a low cost GOG Link, but they arguably don't have the user base for it. Maybe 5 or 10 years from now things might be different.

In the mean time, GOG would do well to expand Galaxy and create a Big Picture Mode for it, as well as game streaming. Things that could benefit GOG on 3rd party hardware.
